Protection Process
The success of implementing a plan is teamwork effort. Our goal is to help
you achieve you and your family's goals, to maximize benefits available, and
to work within your budget.
No matter how simple or complex the case, work with us to speed the
process. Your agent is working in your behalf to helpyou and your family.
Each carrier and programs requires certain things in its proper order to
finalize approval process. Again, as a team, we can accomplish more.
We have simplified systems that can be approved within a few days to 3 weeks on average. .
For larger or more complex cases where a full exam is required (called fully underwritten) , there are more steps
we go through to finalize the protection. Again, it isn't difficult, but records have to be obtained from several different
directions.
Retirement Programs: There are simple & complex programs here too. Most of the time, it is simple. Work with
us to speed the proces and always keep the end goal in mind. Be very prompt to answer our calls. It can take from
2-8 weeks.

What to expect from your advisor: Tips for a smooth, productive meeting
Expect detailed questions about your health. For example, you can expect questions about your age, medical
condition, medical history, family health history, and personal habits, such as any risky hobbies you may have.
To speed the process, have information about health issues, doctors information and current prescriptions
handy. Also, if you have had health issues that have resolved or have been on medications in the past, please
have this information too. Past issues do count. If you don't remember names of doctors, try to remember
clinics or hospitals.
Same with past prescriptions - what were they prescribed for.... having this handy will speed everything and
allow us to guide you properly.
The key to any good relationship is trust and the client/agent relationship is no exception. The agent is
wanting to work in your best interest to help you and your family. Work with them. He or she needs to know
that the information you provide is truthful and complete.
We work to help you:
Step 1: Identify your goals - What do you want to see happen when you retire, you become ill or pass away?
Step 2: Identify options, qualifications, and maximize benefits.
Step 3: Set a plan in motion: In the final step of the protection and retirement process, we implement the proper
amount of protection that fits your goals and budget. We work with companies that provide coverage for
virturally any health challenges - there are few we can not assist.
Step 4: Approval Process: Life Insurance & Certain Retirement/College Programs: Approval process can take
1-3 weeks for simplified issue.
For a fully underwritten ( med exam that requires exams for the life insurance policy or some retirement
products, it can upwards to 2-6 weeks.
Medical Exam may be required. This is conducted by a third party examination company such as Exam One
or Portamedic. The carriers pay for the exam. It takes around 15 -30min at most and is usually done at
location of your choice such as office or home. If the examiners call to confirm an appointment - call them
back to confirm. Some company's policies will not send the examiner unless it is confirmed. Lab results
etc take an ave of 3-5 days to get to the carriers for review.
On full med exam policies, doctors or hospital record statements may be required. Depending on the
speed / organization of the facility - this can go quickly, meaning within 5-7 days or several weeks.
We work to drive the process, yet depending on the facility, it can take a while. If the case is taking a
long time, this is usually why. Just be patient if this is true and never hesitate to call for status.
Lastly, periodically, the companies need additional information or paperwork to finalize everything.
It is important to you and your family to respond immediately to help us help you. So, Be Patient! We are
doing everything we can to speed the process and sometimes will need your help. This is a contract for the
carriers and they have to dot their I's and cross their T's legally. We all want things to go lickety split without
a hitch, we want that too. Most of the time it goes through without hitches, but there are circumstances where
it isn't always easy, help is needed and is worth it for you and your family. It is was sets us apart as we do
work with the easy cases - and the difficult, surprising ones too.
Retirement Evaluation: Typically, we need a few days to find the qualified choices that work that seems
right for you and your family. We will need to speak with you, verify questions and goals, and work with
companies to maximize your options.
Once a plan is selected, depending on the program choices, it can take 1-3 weeks for a simple case.
Up to 6 - 8 weeks for complex cases, rare that it takes this long, but it can. We work to drive the process.
As in a life insurance policy, carriers may need additional paperwork or information to finalize files &
important to help us to help you.
We are always happy to educate family members and others who may have questions with your requested
permission. We do this for a living and want the best for all.
Once you are approved - work to maximize your plans for your future - get excited! We will evaluate
annually as you desire.
Step 5: Finalizing Program: Once you are finalized, if there are payments with the life programs, make them
a priority! Next to food, mortgage, transportation, the life & retirement protection is what will protect
you during the tough times.
It is more important than "things".
We can forget this, especially during the holidays working hard to provide "things" and let payments slip.
Yet this is also the time of the year when major medical issues, accidents, deaths happen - with weather,
stress related, or simply the hustle of the holidays causes tragedies of untold proportions - stories abound.
Work to make these payments a priority - especially during the holidays! There is no better gift.

With a retirement / college policy, resist the urge to tap into this to get "things". Things are frivolous.
One of the secrets of the wealthy is to hang onto money that is making money, and work to save in a
separate bucket for "things" and pay for it as you can afford.
